There will be a change to the format of the Eastern League baseball season when Curve fans return to the ballpark this season.

The league announced Thursday that it will split their regular season into two halves, from playing straight through the season.

Under the new format, the first place finishers for each half of the season will receive the playoff berths. If the same team from the first half of the season finishes in first during the second half, the next team with the best overall record will make it. The final day for the first half of the season will be on Tuesday, June 18, with the second half beginning on Wednesday, June 19.
