The red cross is helping two families who lost their homes in a fire Wednesday afternoon.
The homes are along West Main Street in Everett, Bedford County.
Crews arrived just after noon to smoke and flames coming from the second floor and attic.
“It’s an old house that was made into apartments,” said Chuck Stone, the Assistant Chief Everett Fire Company. “So, it had the usual situation where it had a multitude of doors. You are trying to figure out what door and the way the house was made up you can’t get from there to here. So, for a little bit it was more of a logistics problem. “
No one was injured due to the blaze.
The Fire Marshall is now investigating the cause of the fire.
