Police are warning folks about a scam that’s targeting churchgoers in Cambria County.
According to our news partners at the Tribune Democrat– Geistown Police are looking for the person who’s texting members of the saint benedict roman catholic church, posing as its priest.
The texts ask church members to buy gift cards and text the codes on the back.
The police chief says if you get a similar text, you should contact the organization claiming to send it over the phone, or in person. If the message didn’t come from them, call police.
