Cleanup continues in Newport, Perry Co. after train derailment

NEWPORT, Pa. (WHTM) — Crews continue to clean up tracks in Newport, Perry County after a train derailed around 6:30 Monday night off Old Ferry Road.

Norfolk Southern says 23 cars jumped the tracks, with some cars ending up a few feet into a field.

The derailment could delay train routes between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg for another day.

No injuries were reported.
