Dozens of college students sent their works to Brockway for an art exhibit.
Now, the Brockway Center for Arts and Technology is holding a closing reception for the PA Collegiate Art Show.
The curator says about 50 students entered the show from schools including Edinboro, Millersville, Penn State, and IUP. Then, a Philadelphia artist judged them.
“It’s to show both our high school students what is being made in the state of PA for ceramics and metals at the collegiate level and it’s also to give the college students an opportunity to have a show that’s off their campus,” says BCAT ceramics teaching artist Chuck Purviance.
A pink ceramic deer mount with a rifle was best of show for ceramics and a little box with a bee theme won for metals. The free reception ends at 8 p.m. Friday and the show will be taken down on Saturday.
