New ATV stolen from dealership

Police say they’re looking for two possible suspects in an ATV theft near Clearfield.

It happened around midnight last Saturday, Mar. 19, at Carns Equipment near Exit 120.

The owner says his cameras caught two men shopping for an ATV after closing time around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 18. He says he was in the office then, but didn’t think anything of it since it’s a busy area.

Later, he says one of them came back, cut out the ignition, and hot-wired a new one.

“It looked to be like they were trying to meet up after they stole it and and it could be someone local because they never left the parking lot with a truck it appears they drove it out through our racetrack,” says owner Jeff Carns.

The owner says he’s shocked someone would steal a $25,000 ATV right near the road, next to a 24-hour Dunkin Donuts.

“Two were casing it out, one came back and drove it away, and it’s very clear. You can see him walking up walking across the porch, spending about six minutes here,” says Carns.

He says they’ve only had a few thefts in 30 years of business.  If you know who the men are, you’re asked to call Lawrence Township police.
