World Wide Web turns 30 years old

National News

Tuesday marked the 30th birthday of the World Wide Web.

Tim Berners-Lee, then a 33-year-old software engineer, handed in a proposal that ignited the information age. His idea revolved around managing and monitoring research.

It basically was the first draft of what would become the World Wide Web.

Google honored the birthday with an animated doodle that had pixelated letters that were frequently seen on web pages years ago.
