Supreme Court Justice Retires

National News

Supreme Court Justice, Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement on Thursday.

Kennedy has been on the bench since Ronald Regan was President. Kennedy has never liked being labeled the “Swing Vote;” however, for many years it has been his vote that has often decided the outcome of cases in a closely divided court.

President Trump says he will nominate Kennedy’s successor from a list of 25 names already under consideration.

The Senate Majority Leader says lawmakers will vote on a nominee in the fall.
