No let up in this unseasonably chilly pattern. We awoke to a frosty Monday and temperatures will fall to around freezing again tomorrow morning so bring in the flowers and cover your plants. Today’s record low for Altoona was 27 degrees set back in 1974, The railroad city dipped to 37 while Dubois won the chilly prize dropping to 28 this morning. Below average temperatures will hang on for the rest of the week, we should enjoy daytime highs in the upper 60s but we’ll be lucky to see the mid 60s by the Mother’s Day Weekend. The return of sunshine is more than welcome but it won’t have much of a warming effect on this chilly dry air mass.
