WW2 Vet turns 102

Local News

A local World War 2 veteran is celebrating a milestone that few people reach. Frank Basciani turned 102 years old on Thursday.

His 96-year-old sister Vera, also a WW2 veteran,  joined him and other family members and friends,  for a party in Frank’s honor. The event featured live music and the Keystone Pinup Girls..

Vera describes her brother as a happy-go-lucky man who liked women, liked to sing and was a good dancer.

She says Frank had predicted that he would at least make it to 100 years old. He’s an Altoona native and lives at the Altoona Center for Nursing.
