Woman held-up in mall parking lot

Area police want your help to solve an armed robbery in the Logan Valley Mall parking lot. Logan Township Police say it happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

A woman told police she was standing outside by her vehicle when a man said “hey” and pushed her in the back. When the victim turned around, she saw a white male holding a gun and demanding her purse. She gave it to him and he took off.

Police say he drove from the Logan Valley Mall to 17th Street and 9th Avenue in Altoona, where the victim’s cell phone was located in the snow between the sidewalk and the Station Medical Center.

The suspect is  described as a white male between 5’5″ and 5’8″, with a stocky build. He’s believed to be in his mid 20’s, with light eyebrows and no facial hair. He was wearing zip-up fleece style sweater and a dark color beanie. He was driving a royal blue subcompact sedan.
