Copper Fox Winery owners Kevin and Jennifer Wolfel got the idea to open their winery in Kersey in 2017.
They bought a former restaurant with plans to convert it.
“We were going to make the whole thing into a winery and the more we thought about it, up in the Finger Lakes area, New York, and up in the Lake Erie region, a lot of the wineries have restaurants,” Kevin Wolfel said.
So they reached out to a local caterer to see if they’d like to open a restaurant, and they agreed.
“It’s something we always wanted to do, and finally our dream came true,” DeeDee Calla, owner of Calla’s Cafe said.
Copper Fox Winery and Calla’s Cafe are both located in the same building on Million Dollar Highway.
Calla’s Cafe serves food with an Italian flair. To pair with their meals, customers have the choice of more than 25 Copper Fox wines.
Copper Fox Winery also has their wines available to sample and can be purchased by the bottle.
The grand opening celebration for the winery and restaurant is Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Those who come out can sample food and wine, as well as enjoy music and taste local moonshine and beers.
