Weis Markets stocks up in advance of Winter storm

Local News
The upcoming forecasted Winter storm has some grocery stores ordering more food to provide for all the shoppers stocking up.
David Barnard, Store Manager at Weis Markets on Rolling Ridge Drive in State College says his grocery store has been consistently packed since warnings for the storm started.
Kelly Corneal is a wife, and mother of two in State College.  She wasn’t planning on grocery shopping today, but when she heard about this weekend’s forecast, her plans quickly changed.
“This is probably the biggest snow storm that we’ve had in quite a while, so yeah, everyone wants to stock up, and make sure, cause we’re not really sure how long we’ll need to be stocked up for,” Kelly Corneal in State College, said.
“We’ve been bulking up our orders, in preparation of the storm,” Barnard, said.
He says when big storms are forecasted they stock up on most things, but a few things in particular.
“We’ve added on, some extra deliveries of milk, bread, eggs, as well as beer, and just general items around the store,” Barnard said.
Barnard and shoppers say the amount of people and the extra supply of food makes it feel holiday shopping.

“It’s been like pre-Christmas shopping that you do to stock up for holiday meals,” Kelly, said.  “It’s very busy today, a lot of people in all different aisles, in all the different section of the store today.”
On top of the extra food the grocery store has also brought in more cashiers and food packers to keep up with the heavy demand.
