A wallet left at the scene of a fire helped investigators track down a person accused of arson in Elk County.

Crews said they were looking into a fire that destroyed a wood frame storage shed around 1:15 a.m. Saturday in Horton Township.

In the debris, investigators told us they found remains of burned blue jeans and partially burned wallet. Inside the wallet was Brian Reed’s license, who was spotted in the area of the fire without shoes or pants.

We’re told Reed confessed to setting the fire with intent to destroy the shed. He’s now facing several charges.

Damage is estimated at $2,000. No injuries were reported.
