Volunteer firefighter’s home catches on fire in Northern Cambria

Local News

The Hope Fire Company responded to a house fire in Northern Cambria around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The company’s chief, Dave Hassen, said there was severe heat and smoke damage through the home, but nobody was injured.

Spangler, Hastings, and Colver Fire Companies responded to the call, as well.

The Fire Marshall has been called out to investigate the incident.

The chief also said the owner of the home is a member of his company.

“The owner of the house is one of our members, which it doesn’t change things. You still do your job. It just makes it a little harder,” Hassen said.

The family has two children, a 9-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son.

Anyone interested in donating clothes or supplies to the family can drop off items at the Hope Fire Hall.
