Volunteer firefighter charged with theft

READE TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A local volunteer firefighter is charged with stealing equipment from his department.

State Police say, Frederick McClellan, 45, made off with turnout gear and a pager belonging to the Reade Township Fire Department.

The items are valued at $2,700.

According to the police complaint, McLellan says he returned the turnout gear in 2018 but was never issued a pager.

Mcclellan is charged with two felonies in connection with the incident.
