Veterans monument vandalized

Local News

DUNCANSVILLE, BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Police would like your help finding whoever damaged a local veterans monument that was designed and built by an eagle scout.

Sometime between last fall and last week, somebody ripped out a flagpole at the memorial  in Duncansville. The soldier and sailors monument, dedicated in 2014, carries the names of 66 local veterans who were killed in combat.

Members of local veterans groups that are restoring monuments in Blair County are pledging to repair the one in Duncansville.

We’re told that before this monument was built, Duncansville was the only place in Blair County without a soldiers and sailors memorial.
