On January 18th, the 7th-grade students of Park Forest Middle School will host a “lock-In” Community Service and Community Building Event. The kids will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by doing community service that will help people who may feel or be ‘locked out’ in some way. Students and faculty will be “locked in” from 6pm-10p.m. They will discuss the work and legacy of Dr. King. They will also collect and make items for various charities and organizations in the community. The night also includes games, food, and activities to foster relationships between students and teachers.
