A Clearfield County township is continuing to work out what to do with its water and sewer systems.
For several months, Sandy Township has been deciding whether to sell it’s municipal authority.
A committee between the township and City of Dubois has been meeting to work on an agreement.
One option would be a long-term agreement with the city.
The other would be an operating and maintenance agreement.
That decision would determine what rates the customer would have to pay.
“We believe what’s best for everybody at this time is Sandy Township maintains the system, operate the system and work out a long-term agreement on what rates will look like.”
The committee hopes to have a proposal by the March 18 municipal authority meeting.
Private company Aqua PA has also placed a bid on the systems.
