A Fulton County man is facing charges after allegedly stealing from a local school district.
According to police, 55-year-old John Mixell was a school maintenance supervisor for 14 years in the Forbes Road School District. He was terminated in May of last year.
Police say the school reviewed records and receipts of tool purchases and found that many of the items were missing. After searching Mixell’s home, police say they found a large number of those items, worth nearly $6,000.
Mixell admitted having some of the items on the list and claimed they were used for school projects he worked on at home, but admitted also using them for personal use. He claims he will pay for the items if the school does not need them anymore. Mixell is facing multiple charges relating to theft.
