Starting sometime in the next few months, folks in Centre and Clearfield Counties may see a colorful bus driving down their streets. The Traveling Table will be a mobile feeding bus that will also provide free health and dental screenings, and education. The YMCA of Centre County and CenClear unveiled their initiative on Wednesday at a news conference
“The Traveling Table is a vehicle, a bus that is outfitted with a complete commercial kitchen, medical and dental needs through Penn State Health and what we’ll be able to do with this is get into pocketed areas of Centre and Clearfield Counties to feed children and families,” said Mel Curtis, Branch Mgr., Moshannon Valley YMCA.
The new bus is under construction right now and is expected to be delivered sometime next month.
Curtis says CenClear has bought the bus for the program and is providing the food and nutritional services. Penn State Health will offer the medical and dental care.
