Thanksgiving turkeys given out for free

Local News

For the 10th year in a row, Xerox, Giant Eagle and the Logan Township Volunteer Fire Services will provide Thanksgiving turkeys to those in need.

A grant from the Xerox Foundation will allow Xerox employees and members of the Logan Township Volunteer Fire Service to assemble and deliver complete Thanksgiving food baskets on Saturday November 17th to less fortunate local area families. This year through partners at Catholic Charities and others they have identified 62 families that need assistance. That’s a combined total of 286 people who will be receiving these Thanksgiving meal boxes. Each box includes all of the items for a traditional Thanksgiving meal including the turkey, trimmings and even a pumpkin pie for dessert.

This year as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, they ask everyone to reflect on what they are thankful for in life and lend a helping hand to those less fortunate.
