Summer educational programs planned at Parker Dam

PENFIELD, CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ)– Parker Dam State Park in Clearfield County has a lineup of educational activities for kids this summer.

Parker Dam State Park is holding Discover-E days every other Friday throughout the summer.

Kids age four to eight can learn more about the park’s history and nature.

They also have a variety of regular programing that goes on each week.

“A lot of recreation, history, as well as the natural history interpretation programs that are pretty standard,” Environmental Education Specialist Carey Huber said. “You know, the trees, the flowers, the wildlife that everybody is interested in.”

The park is also hosts recreational programs like kayaking, hiking and GPS basics for any age.
