Penn State made the call to cancel classes early on Thursday, stating that they felt conditions would be unsafe with a sudden drop in temperature.
Students said they go an update on the early dismissal in the middle of class and that it was going to be cut short. The students were also surprised to hear that they were going to be getting out early saying it doesn’t happen often.
Anthony Martellucci, PSU Student, “Actually pretty surprising… it was raining earlier, usually they don’t care about the rain…. it’s not even snowing that bad, I don’t think it’s supposed to snow that bad… so really surprising.”
Vladimer Kellchow, PSU Student, “I was looking at the forecast and it doesn’t make any sense to me either… but I guess they’re airing on the side of caution, better to be safe than sorry.”
