Students hold fundraiser for school van crash victims

DuBois students are supporting the victims of a school van crash.

Last monday, two adults and one student were seriously injured after the van crashed into a tree in Clearfield County.

DuBois Area High School student council is donating the proceeds from the Ben Friedl Memorial Basketball game to the victims’ families.

The game will be held Friday at 6 p.m. in the Dubois High School gym. Doors open at 5:15.

The cost is $2 for students and $3 for adults.

“It just supports the people who got hurt, no one likes to see anyone get hurt,” student council vice president Chase Husted said. “They can come out, they can bring donations for the basket raffle just come support help these people get back to health.”

State police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
