State Police offering free safety checks in our area

(WTAJ) — State Police are cracking down on drivers who don’t wear a seatbelt.

Monday kick’s off this years Click It or Ticket campaign and will continue until June 2.

Officers say anyone that isn’t wearing a seatbelt when they are stopped will receive a citation. Children under the age of 8 must be safely secured in a child safety seat. Children under the age of 2 must be in a rear-facing child seat.

Officers will also be offering free child safety check and installations.

State Police will be conducting child safety seat checks at the following locations:

Clarion County
When: May 13 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: Seidle Chevrolet at 1141 East Main Street in Clarion

Clearfield County
When: May 13 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: Clearfield Fire Department at 108 East Cherry Street in Clearfield

When: May 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: DuSan Ambulance at 835 Beaver Drive in DuBois

Elk County
When: Where: May 22 from 3 to 7 p.m.
Where: PA Department of Transportation Building at 32 Saint Leo Avenue in Ridgway

Jefferson County
When: May 23 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: Punxsutawney Central Fire Department at 301 East Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney
