State College Video manufacturer partners with Amazon

In the more than 20 years Videon has been a company, they’ve evolved as technology has evolved, by working on DVDs, to smart TVs, to streaming media.

Todd Erdley, CEO for the electronic manufacturer solely based out of State College, says by partnering with Amazon they will now be able to bring new streaming options for families to use in everyday life, as well as be able to offer more jobs to people locally.

Here’s how the new Videon-Amazon partnership works.  Videon’s technology will send video up to Amazon’s cloud, faster.

Erdley, says this will hit a lot of new markets and impact families in Happy Valley.

“There can be a camera, there can be our video technology, it can interface to the Amazon cloud, and no longer does every parent need to use cell phone to stream, it’s going to be in the gymnasium, it’s going to be in the auditorium.”

In other words, he says parents can just enjoy their children at a performance, and not worry about recording on their phones, because the video will be streaming and recorded for them and relatives living in other places to watch.

This growth for the company will require more engineers, manufactures, and marketers, bringing opportunities right here to Central PA.

“We would like to find a way to reach the local people of this Central Pennsylvania region, these are great workers, they’re highly skilled workers, they’re dedicated workers, we think that we have a great opportunity for them,” Erley said.

Videon is accepting applications now and says experience in technology work is not necessary.
