State College sees more growth

Local News

State College had 2 high rise construction projects completed last year and threre are currently 3 in the works. The new 12 story buildings are getting mixed reaction around town.
Some are all for the new look and space and feel the home-town feeling is still there and will be more attractive to visitors
Others feel the tall buildings cut against the grain of what they feel State College

And with just under 550 apartments that are currently being constructed there will be more space for those looking to make State College home for many years, or a couple of semesters.

But there are concerns over a sudden spike in apartments. Ed LeClear, State College Borough’s planning director feels for a time there will be a housing surplus. He’s particularly concerned about the properties that are outside the downtown area.
