ArtsAltoona has announced that it is accepting registrations for their second spring session of its After School Arts Program (ASAP).
The session will be held at the Altoona Area Junior High cafeteria on Tuesdays from April 9 through June 4 and is open to students in grades 7, 8 and 9. The program is being offered free of charge.
KT Huckabee, a Penn State University Dance Professor, will teach the class and focus on movement. The class will be student-driven in terms of creating expressive movements and discovery.
“The goal of our classes is to target kids who don’t have many support structures or extra-curricular activities in their lives. Our mission is to encourage and give hope to children who need it, provide encouraging adults to instruct and assist in classes and give students the opportunity to try out a new skill and build confidence.”
-Ann Bickel, ASAP Program Director
Students can register by calling 814-201-7004 or by picking up an application at the Altoona Area Junior High. Applications must be submitted by April 5.
