Punxsutawney Phil made a stop at DuBois Central Catholic ahead of Groundhog Day.
He was invited as part of DCC’s Catholic Schools Week.
Elementary students got to take a break from their normal classes to learn all about Phil.
They even weighed in on what he might predict.
“I think he’s going to predict 6 more weeks of winter because I love winter,” Samuel Ruseitti said.
Phil has a busy schedule in the days leading up to February 2, but isn’t letting that stop him from preparing for his prediction.
“Basically he doesn’t change his routine much,” Phil’s handler John Griffiths said. “He sleeps, he eats, and then after that he’ll sleep and then sleep a little more.”
