PSU students volunteer for MLK Day

Local News

Today students at Penn State had off class for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. But many of them decided to volunteer their service to the community.

More than 240 students participated in the Day of Service, which involved knotting blankets for the homeless, and making care kits for children with cancer.

All activities students say embody the words of Martin Luther King Jr.

“It’s a day of service in his honor because one of his quotes is that everybody can be a servant…you don’t have to have any qualities to be a good person…if you can serve, that’s good enough,” said Bailey Spates, Co-Director of MLK Day of Service Committee.
