Priest who served Clearfield County pleads guilty to sexual assault

Local News

Morrisdale, Pa- The St. Agnes Catholic Church in Morrisdale is where David Poulson (who pled guilty to sexual assault of an alter boy) served as a paster for 2-and-a-half years in the late 1990’s.

At the moment all of sexual assault charges Poulson plead guilty to are not related to his time here in Clearfield county.

But—people in the county are still reacting. Everyone WTAJ spoke with said their thoughts go out to all of the victims in this case.

That included a local long time church member who said she knew Poulson well. She declined to comment on camera, but told WTAJ she was shocked when she found out about Paulson’s charges. She was emotional telling WTAJ she hopes justice is served.

I also spoke with a local priest, Father Kleckner from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Clearfield, where Poulson served as an administrator for a short time.

Kleckner gave his reaction to hearing poulson’s admission of guilt:

“Disgust and shock, as a priest it’s hard to imagine hurting someone to that point… it’s frustrating, it’s angering, it’s disgusting, I just don’t know what leads someone to do that.”
