Preview of the Centre County Commissioner races

The two Democrat Centre County Commissioners Mark Higgins and Michael Pipe are each running unopposed.

On the Republican side, there’s five candidates running for the final Commissioner seat.

The Incumbent, Steve Dershem, has held this position for four straight terms, thats 16 years.
Two candidates running against Dershem are both former Centre County Commissioners.
Chris Exarchos was Chairman of the Board with the Centre County Board of Commissioners for four years.  He’s currently the part owner and president of a local cooling and heating business.
Vicki Weddler was a Centre County Commissioner for twelve years, and a county administrator for ten years. 
Pat Romano Jr. is the Rush Township Supervisor.  He’s also a Vice President for the Centre County Association of Township officials.
The last candidate, is Tanner Day, a Political Science student at Penn State entering his senior year.  He’s currently the Marion Township manager.
