Soon you’ll be able to drive a little faster on interstate 99 between State College and Bellefonte.
PennDOT has changed the speed limit from 55 to 65, from mile marker 68 at the Grays Woods exit to mile marker 84, near the i-80 interchange in Bellefonte.
We got reactions from drivers on the increase.
We spoke to people who think this a good thing and others who think it’s not.
“I thought 55 was a good speed limit, you know, it was fine the way it was, people are still going to go over that,” Mark Pogurski, from Stormstown said.
“I think it’s a good idea. Been wondering for years why it was 55 miles an hour, so I think 65 seems reasonable,” Linda Stoudt, from State College said.
The speed increase will be official once Centre County maintenance crews have put up the new signs, which could start as early as next week.
