PennDOT announced District 9 “Paint the Plow” winners

PennDOT announced the winners of the District 9 “Paint the Plow” contest.

The contest wrapped up Wednesday. Each county had a “Fan Favorite” and a judges pick winner. The judges pick was chosen by a panel of judges in each county. The “Fan Favorite” was chosen by Facebook users who liked their favorite plow in the contest photo album on the PennDOT Facebook page.

“Each school that participated in the program did an outstanding job,” said District Executive, Thomas A. Prestash. “There was some really great artwork that came out of this year’s competition and we want to thank all of the area schools that participated in the program.”

The winners are:

Bedford County
Judges Pick: Tussey Mountain High School
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Tussey Mountain High School

Blair County
Judges Pick: Central High School
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Central High School

Cambria County
Judges Pick: Ferndale Area High School
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Blacklick Valley High School

Fulton County
Judges Pick: McConnellsburg High School
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Forbes Road High School

Huntingdon County
High School Judges Pick: Southern Huntingdon High School
High School Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Southern Huntingdon High School  

Elementary Judges Pick: Southside Elementary School
Elementary Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Stone Valley Community Charter School  

Somerset County
Judges Pick: Windber Area High School
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Windber High School

The plows will be mounted to a plow truck in the areas of the respective school districts for the upcoming winter season.
