The Pennsylvania man who evaded authorities for months after making threats towards the president made his first court appearance on Friday.
Shawn Christy captured national attention when he led the U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement on a three-month manhunt that spanned six states and Canada.
During that time he allegedly stole several vehicles and guns and broke into homes and businesses.
He was captured in Ohio in late September.
His parents, who sat behind their son in the courtroom, insist he is not a danger to the public.
