“No Shave November” for a good cause

Local News

Around 15 Ferguson Township police officers and staff have been growing out their facial hair as part of “No Shave November” to help a good cause.”

Police officers from the department each donated $20, an amount mount matched by their union.  Local businesses also pitched in.  That money will go to a local charity dealing with kids.  That charity has not been picked yet.  The person voted best facial hair gets that honor.

“Officers always want to give back more to the community, that’s why they join and do what we do,” Sgt. Ryan Hendrick, for the Ferguson Township Police said.  “This was a great way for the officers to have a little bit of fun at the office, while raising money that we’re going to turn around and donate.”

Around $1,000 has been raised so far.  This winner of the facial hair competition will be announced next week.
