The Blair County Planning Commision is moving forward on bringing a Tram Bar manufacturing plant to Allegheny Township.

Thursday, the commision approved plans for the Idaho-based “Tram Bar Co-Packing LLC” to build the more than 20,000 square foot facility.

It’ll be used to make energy bars for Kate’s Real Food of Jackson Wyoming.

The township believes 15 jobs will be created in the first year, which will eventually grow to 45.

Bids on the $5.5 million project will go out next week.

The company hopes to have a contractor by the end of march.
