If you like homemade Italian food, but you don’t want to cook it yourself, the owner of a new local store says, “Come on in!”
At Alto Markets Italian Foods in Altoona, meatballs, lasagna, ravioli, soups, subs, and daily specials are made right in their kitchen. They also make some of their own spices and dressings. Deli foods and breads are brought in from Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.
“We went for more or less an Italian street market look with the different market areas throughout. We have the pantry, we have the breads and pasta, the produce out front,” said owner Travis Seymour.
Alto Markets also features foods produced by other area businesses.The store will hold its grand opening this Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22.
