A new State College credit and debot card processing company is connecting local businesses, with local non-profits.

“All non-profits, we all struggle to raise money,” Christine Faust, Director of Development and Marketing, Centre County PAWS. said.

“Giv Local” was started just over three months ago, to help non-profits like Centre County Paws raise money, while helping small businesses save money.

“We ultimately came up with “Giv Local” which is, how do we tap into the for-profit mindset and help non-profits simultaneously,” Christine Baum, Co-Founder for Giv Local, said.

It works like this, Giv Local charges local businesses like “Cool Beans Coffee and Tea” less for processing theri credit and debit card fees than large cooperations.

Then Giv Local donates 20% of those fees to local non profits like Centre County Paws.  Leaders of both organizations say it’s a win-win.

“I think it’s gonna’ grow and be big and we’re glad we were one of the first ones on board,” Sherry Nelson, Owner, Cool Beans Coffee & Tea, said.

“I think Ballpark Frank is excited about the possibility of another funding, stream, because he likes his food,” Christine Faust, Director of Development and Marketing, Centre County PAWS, said.
