Mount Nittany Medical Center unveiled its plans for a $15 Million expansion project over the weekend.
The hospital plans to add a 26,000-square-foot cardiovascular pavilion above its Emergency Department.
The new pavilion will have two labs for procedures, four EKG and stress test exam rooms, and eight prep and recovery bays.
Cardiac Director Dr. Albert Zoda says it will enhance the services Mount.Nittany can provide heart patients.
“The equipment will be the most up to date equipment available, just like TV screens change every year, our imaging equipment also improves so it will improve the ability of us to perform these coronary interventions,” said Dr. Zoda.”
Cardiologists say that expansion will improve their ability to diagnose and treat everything from heart rhythm disturbances to heart attacks.
The cardiovascular pavilion is set to open by the fall of next year.
