The public was welcome at a Mount Aloysius program called “Mounties Hooked on Hockey: Achieving your Dreams”. Thursday,They hosted Johnstown Tomahawks players, staff and coaches and a teleconference with Sam Lafferty, a prospect in the Pittsburgh Penguins system. The event was in the Bertschi Center and Technology Commons.
Players and coaches talked about their professional hockey journey and the importance of establishing goals throughout life. After their discussion and a question and answer session, players showcased hockey tricks in the Bertschi gym.
Sam Lafferty, a Hollidaysburg native, was signed to a two-year, entry-level contract and reported to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins after being drafted in the fourth round by the Penguins.
At Brown University he was Brown’s team leader during his senior year in assists (14) and points (22), and his eight goals were second on the club.
