Mount Nittany Medical Center has been planning extra staffing for Saturday’s game for a week.
Lou Brungard, Vice President of Facilities for Mount Nittany Medical Center says, there wil be more staff at the hospital on Saturday to help with heart attacks, strokes or overdoses that comes from the increased population.
The hospital, Bellefonte EMS, Pleasant Gap EMS and Moshannon Valley EMS will each be an sending ambulance to Beaver Stadium before game which is something they don’t normally do.
“In the emergency department itself there are additional staffing that we provide, the emergency medical services team also increases, security supply chain, all of the diagnostic teams, x-ray, the laboratory,” Brungard said.
There will also be medical staff on call for State College. Brungard said if you are going to the game, tailgating or driving around town tomorrow have fun, but be careful.
