A man pled guilty to tying a girl’s hands and putting her in a garbage bag as punishment on Tuesday.
Police said Khristopher Newman pled guilty to assaulting the 4-year-old girl in November 2015 while she was with him and her mother Crystal Jedrzejek. The girl’s brother told her father, Jeremy Jedrzejek, what happened and he then called the police.
The girl was taken to the hospital with injuries to her head, face and liver.
“She’s not exactly the same anymore because he took her innocence,” Jeremy Jedrzejek said.
Newman, who is out of jail, pled guilty to aggravated and simple assault, along with endangering the welfare of children.
The girl’s mother was also charged and pled guilty to disorderly conduct. She was sentenced to nine months of probation in May of last year.
Newman is expected to be sentenced on April 2. He could face up to 10 years in prison.
