Due to weather delays, the connector trail that currently provides access to Musser’s Gap across Whitehall Road Regional park and other privates lands will be relocating this week.

The connector trail that goes around the Whitehall Road Regional Park will now go through the park’s woods, and trail users will reconnect to the current trail on the south side of the woods, keeping hikers and dog walkers away from any construction.

There will be signs temporarily in place to help users find their way on the new trail.

The existing trail will be relocating approximately 50 feet to the west to accommodate construction in the area, which will eliminate any on-site parking.

Trail users will be able to park at High Point Park, the State College Alliance Church, or utilize the Musser’s Gap Trailhead Parking Lot.

The State College Alliance Church recommends that their lot be asked after 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Sunday afternoons after 2 p.m. The Church asks that the parking lot that is painted as their basketball courts are not blocked by trail users.

High Point park is owned by the State College Borough and the park is open from dawn to dusk. Trail users are asked not to park there overnight.
