Local nurses to hold statewide vigil for safe patient limits.
Hundreds of nurses across Pennsylvania will gather for a candlelight vigil for safe patient limits tonight at 7:30 p.m.
The vigil is taking place at 1304 7th Street, across from UPMC Altoona to raise awareness on safe staffing and let the public know that nurses across the state are committed to solving the care crisis by voting for candidates who support safe patient limit laws on November 6.
The safety of Pennsylvania patients is endangered when there is understaffing of nurses and caregivers in hospitals and nursing homes. This means patients are suffering as there aren’t nurses available to provide the care they need, and more and more nurses are leaving the profession.
