State Rep. Scott Conklin has been appointed Democratic chairman of the House Gaming Oversight Committee for the 2019-2020 legislative session.
This will be Conklin’s first term leading the committee’s Democrats, after serving two consecutive terms as Democratic chairman of the House Children and Youth Committee.
The Gaming Oversight Committee oversees Pennsylvania’s table games, slot machine gaming, small games of chance and amusement laws.
According to Conklin, since the legalization of casino gaming, more than $15 billion in tax revenue has been generated and used to help fund property tax relief, fire and emergency medical service grants, programs for senior citizens, and the state’s General Fund.
Conklin was first elected to the House in 2006 and currently is serving his seventh term. Conklin has two constituent service centers in his district. The State College service center is located at 301 S. Allen St., Suite 102, and can be reached at (814) 238-5477. The Philipsburg service center is located at 213 N. Front St. and can be reached at (814) 342-4872.
