Local Foundation Giving Away 200 Thanksgiving Meals to Veterans

DUNCANSVILLE, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Chad A Edmunson Memorial Foundation is giving away 200 Free Thanksgiving meals to veterans in the community on Saturday November 21st at 10 am at the armory in Duncansville.

This year the food drive will be hosted outdoors due to COVID-19 restrictions. Veterans can pull up, and volunteers will load meals into their cars. People are asked to bring a proof of ID.

“Guys have eaten in the jungles of Vietnam in the fields of rice in south Korea desserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan so it brings back good memories it brings back bad memories but it brings back the memories of camaraderie with your brothers in arms,” says Chad A. Edmunson Memorial Foundation President, Robert Bradley recalls his time overseas spent away from family.

Several organizations have come together to make this giveaway possible. The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Legion Riders, Keystone Pinups, American Rescue Workers, and the Salvation Army have partnered to sponsor this event and donate canned goods and other food items for vets.

“Veterans are selfless you know we always think of others that’s how the sacrifice begins you lay your life down for your brother it’s not a handout – it’s something that you earned when you signed to serve your country,” says President Robert Bradley.
