Tonight local bands from State College performed at the State Theatre, before the first screening of a documentary.
The documentary, “Metronome from the Attic”, shows the challenges small town bands face while chasing their dreams.
The event coordinator and filmmaker for the documentary says there’s a real interest in the music scene of Central Pennsylvania.
“Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are great music cities, and I think one of the things we hope to highlight with this show is that there are great and passionate musicians all over Pennsylvania, you know, every little town and little smaller city around the state has great local musicians, Andy Grant, Lead Producer of Digital Media for WPSU Penn State, said.
The groups “Ted & Molly and Their Friends” and “Lenina Crowne” played their rock, blues and indie music at the free event.
WPSU hopes to make more documentaries for this new series “Metronome from the Attic”, in early 2019.
