Honoring a former Penn State football player

Local News

A year after a former Penn State football player’s death, his fiancee and former teammates are trying to honor his memory, by starting a scholarship in his name.

Adam Gress was an offensive linemen for Penn State from 2009 until twenty-thirteen…He died from a rare heart condition, at 26 years old in December of 2017.
It will take 50-thousand dollars to start the Adam Gress scholarship.
Once Adam’s friends and fiancee raise that money, penn state athletics will hand out this scholarship every year.

“He touched so many lives, even though his life was so short and it has been great to see the Penn State community as a whole come together and support, sort of the memory of Adam so that we can try to do this,” John Urschel, Adam’s Former Teammate, said.
The Adam Gress scholarship would be a full scholarship, given to an offensive linemen coming to Penn State, every year.
In the ten days the go-fund-me page has been up, over 100 people have donated nearly 15-thousand dollars
